How to use your color palette when you are standing in front of the rack

Clothing and makeup color guidance

A color chart only pays off at the moment you are about to spend money.

Most people file theirs in a drawer, because nobody showed them when to use it. So in a session, Khwan spends real time on how to use the palette, not only on finding it.

Clothes: start with what sits next to your face

Your whole wardrobe does not need to change. The closer a piece sits to your face, the more its color matters.

A collar, the top under a jacket, a scarf, earrings: these bounce color straight up onto your skin. Trousers, skirts and shoes are far enough away that you can wear what you like.

A top outside your group still works as an outer layer, as long as something in your colors sits between it and your face.

Makeup: lipstick shows the biggest difference

It sits in the middle of your face and carries a lot of color, so when the shade is wrong the whole face follows it, and no amount of blush or highlighter pulls it back. Plenty of people own ten or twelve lipsticks and use two. The rest felt off for reasons they could not name. Once you know your group, you can see what the unused ones have in common.

Blush and eyeshadow work the same way, more gently. Foundation is a different question. It has to match your skin directly.

Hair color: the expensive mistake

Hair frames your face and is the hardest thing to undo. Khwan tells you which tones lift your skin and which to approach carefully, so you can give your colorist a specific brief before anything is mixed.

Shopping with it

Take a photo of your palette. Open it at the rack.

Still unsure? Hold the piece under your chin and look in the store mirror. It is the same check we do in the session, just smaller, and it works on every trip.

You do not need a new wardrobe. You need the next thing you buy to get worn.

Khwan comes to your home, about 45-60 minutes per person, and you take your own color palette home.
